Rise with the sun and gather around the large dining table for breakfast before heading down to the beach with a book or out on the paths with your bike.
The house garners it's name from the expanse of fynbos surrounding it- between the house and the lagoon. Just a short amble from the sand and with views over the water, Fynbos is a popular Summer and Winter retreat.
Rise with the sun and gather around the large dining table for breakfast before heading down to the beach with a book or out on the paths with your bike. Take your canoe along for a paddle in the lagoon and swim in the morning or afternoon in the warm blue water. Churchhaven is in the West Coast National Park and entrance is via the park gates (there is a small fee on entrance).
Churchhaven is one of the Cape's best kept secrets and, as well as being breath-takingly beautiful it is also low on environmental impact. Like the surounding houses, Fynbos is built on an entirely green footprint of reclaimed materials, solar panels, locally sourced finishes and rainwater harvesting.
Fynbos (in keeping with the town) is completely off the grid and you must take your own drinking water and please use the power sparingly. Appliances that draw a lot of power (such as hairdryers) are not allowed.
