This clapboard home is very big and spacious and perfect for families with kids- surfers or not. The small town is relaxed and friendly and this sandy feet allowed home is perfect for entertaining the family and friends. Spend the day on the beach and warm up in the jacuzzi after or sit by the fire.
Kommetjie is perfect in that it is not too far from Cape Town city if you want to drive in though we think you'll fall in love and want to hang out at the house mostly. The house has plenty of space and lots of love in every detail.
Pebbles was built by architect Frank Böhm and the owners built it so that they could be closer to their favourite surfing spot. "As a beach & watersports family we always loved Kommetjie for its laid-back surfer vibe, the small fishing village character with its little shops to walk to for morning croissants and newspaper and yet, at the same time, it is a short drive away from buzzing Cape Town." Kommetjie beach is a very natural beach with lots of bird and the chance to spot some whales.
The house is known as Pebbles because of the name of its surf spot right in front of the house and the huge advantage of its position is being totally sheltered from the south-easter and the best sunset viewing terrace in the whole of Kommetjie. "In Winter we switch on the underfloor heating downstairs - no cold feet! Light up the huge fireplace and watch the storms and huge waves roll by."
